We Review the Joby Gorilla Pod
Today’s tennis coaches understand the importance of instant analysis and the value of being able to send short videos from phone to website or to clients as part of an extended range of services. We are also social media-savvy. In fact, https://coschedule.com/blog/how-often-to-post-on-social-media/ recommends 1-2 daily posts in Instagram and Facebook is likely to help you get more engagement from your followers. And we also know that video is far more likely to attract followers than a block of text.
The GorillaPod is an essential piece of kit for tennis coaches and players who want to analyse and share what they or their players do with others or on social media.
Covid-19 lockdown has been a learning for us all. One thing I’ve learnt is how I needed to develop my online and social media skills, so I decided to treat myself to a neat piece of kit of help me produce short videos for websites and vlogs. There are plenty of these gadgets on the market starting suspiciously cheaply at under £5.00, but after a short amount of research (meaning a recommendation from a friend), I went for the GorillaPod Starter Kit, costing £39.99. It looks great – sturdy, sleek and modern, and well designed. The flexible tripod with the phone clamp or GoPro mount attached fits brilliantly onto a chain link fence at the back of your court, or you can simply stand it up on or behind the court to film your player or yourself (I’m a big believer in videoing yourself as a coach to analyse your coaching skills). The bendy legs mean that filming can be done at pretty much any angle or on any surface. Filming in the dark comes easy too, with the torch mount as an optional bit of kit.
I’m realising now that the GorillaPod is an essential piece of kit for tennis coaches and players who like to see themselves on camera, or who like to analyse and share what they or their players do with others or on social media. If you’re looking to invest in your post-lockdown coaching, I would suggest that you make sure the GorillaPod is on your shopping list
